Her Last Breath by J.A. Schneider
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Thank you to RGS Media via NetGalley for the free Kindle e-book Her Last Breath: Detective Kerri Blasco #2. This is in exchange for an honest review.
J.A. Schneider slams the reader into the middle of a murder scene. Survivor Mari Gill scrambles away from the nude man lying next to her. She cannot breathe. Scrambling away from the dead man, she spies her bag in an unlikely place. Inside the bag is her life-saving inhaler. She must get to that bag.
Is the murderer still in the unfamiliar apartment? Is she the killer? She is blank about the night before.
In the midst of this chaos a seemingly 'nice guy' appears out of the blue, and helps her with her bag and inhaler.
Detective Kerri Blasco catches the homicide case. It will not be easy to unravel this dangerous, suspense filled mystery.
Mari has personal problems, is rethinking her life, and is staying in her own place, away from her attorney husband.
Is she on the menu of a killer? Who is guilty? Was she supposed to die that night?
There are so many possible doers in this novel, I suspected myself for a minute.
J.A. Schneider is a wizard with words and her characters are three dimensional.
This is number 2 in a series but stands alone. I will recommend this for our library collection. This is number 2 in a series but stands alone. I will recommend this for our library collection.
